Freshman year Matt and I met at a Halloween party our school was throwing. Matt was dressed like a nerdy engineer and some of my friends were talking to him. I swiftly made my way across the lawn to meet him. I remember thinking, "this boy is so stinking cute". What I did not know was that he was smitten as well. Who knew four years later I would be marrying that same engineer.
Matt and I traveled to Colombia to spend Christmas break with the Brungardt family. I was anxiously awaiting a proposal but I was absolutely positive it would not occur until we returned from Colombia...I was very wrong. I have never been so overjoyed to be wrong in my life. First, you should know some things about me: I am hard to surprise, I love nature, I love family, I love cows, and I love Matt. On December 20th we went on the most beautiful and memorable hike of my life. As we were walking by a pasture Matt suggested that we try to get a picture by the cow. He convinced me to climb over a low to the ground barbed wire fence and make our way into the green field. We stopped for Luke ( Best Man and Matt's brother) to take our picture and Matt gave me the biggest surprise of my life. He proposed in Colombia with his family a few yards away. After the big moment, we set up our celebration lunch and Mrs. Brungardt trekked Martinelli bottles up the mountain. That day could not have been more perfect!
