I don't even know where to start, we have FIVE years full of memories! It was October of 2016 that we met. We were both in school at East Carolina University at that time. Me an undergrad trying to get into nursing school and Joe a computer science major working at ECU college of nursing. You are probably thinking I know how this story is going to go... Boy meets girl studying for nursing school at the schools computer lab, boy and girl fall in love... which is partly true. Some of you may and some may not know, but me and Joe may not have been completely honest on how we met... So SURPRISE, Joe and I actually met on an online dating site. Yes, yes we know we told you all we met at ECU, which is the partly true part in the story. Back in 2016 online dating kinda had a bad rep. you know your parents would always tell you to never talk to strangers on the internet blah blah blah etc.. So I guess when we started dating and people kept asking us how we met we just figured saying ECU instead of online to prevent our parents from freaking out thinking the other could be a murderer haha. So.. Joe and I planned to go on a dinner date to meet. We both decided Buffalo wild wings in Greenville would be good.... however so did my best friend Kesley and her ENTIRE family. It's funny (the host sat us at the table across from them too) lol. It is funny now that we look back at it, she helped me pick my outfit for that night. After that first night in BWW the rest was history, after about three months it never was decided if we were boyfriend and girlfriend or just "dating" so it was kind of assumed we were bf and gf..well according to Joe. However I mess with him all the time for never properly asking me to be his girlfriend with flowers and a poster the whole shabang. But still to this day when I pick on him about it, he always comes back and says I did something better, I asked you to be my wife instead. <3

It was my first semi vacation off from work.. I had decided I wanted to go to the beach for the weekend just to get away. We planned it all out and the day comes we leave to go to the beach! We made plans for some of our friends to come down for the day to hangout maybe go to a few breweries on that Saturday. Joe informed me on Friday night that his sister was also coming down to pick up a bicycle that she had delivered to the beach house so that her boyfriend would not see it because it was his Christmas gift.. I did not think anything of it at the time, just thought she had not had time with the holidays to come down and pick it up. Saturday rolls around and our friends come down we hang out at the house that morning playing games relaxing. Around lunch time we started getting ready for the night. Joe's sister shows up around 4 oclock and grabs the bicycle and loads her car.. me thinking she was about to head back home asks our friends Cayce and Cate if they wanted to go take some pictures on the dock by the sound, she brought her camera down because she wanted to get sunset pics (she is a photographer) so I thought nothing of it. We all pile in the car and head down to the doc before we headed out to dinner. We get to the doc and keep in mind its January 9th its FREEZING and down by the water it's even colder. When everyone started to get out of the car I did not. I had planned on staying inside because I didn't want pictures and I was cold. So I told them to go without me... they begged and begged for me to go. So I finally decided to go down there.. Joe's sister is taking pictures of the boys and of me and Cate and the next thing I know I turned around to Joe on one knee. Of course I said yes, and made sure he asked my daddy haha I am sure you all have seen the video lol. It would have been bad if I had stayed in that car lol. But here we are now.....planning our forever <3 I love you.
