Travel Instructions from Rome to Florence Once you land in Rome, here’s how to get to Florence: From the Airport (Fiumicino - FCO) to Rome Termini: After you collect your bags, you’ll walk out the doors near baggage claim. The Leonardo Express train is just across the street, super easy to find. There are ticket machines right inside baggage claim where you can purchase your ticket for the Leonardo Express Trains run every 15–30 minutes The ride to Rome Termini (the main train station) takes about 30 minutes No stops along the way — direct and easy! From Rome Termini to Florence: Once you arrive at Rome Termini, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for a high-speed train (Frecciarossa or Italo) to Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN). There are plenty of ticket machines in Termini, or you can buy tickets in advance online at Trenitalia or Italo The train ride to Florence is about 1.5 hours Be sure to check your train number and platform on the station screens!
