We met through the best man, Johnathan. John is Matt’s best friend, and Shelbie’s cousin. They were around one another for several parties and functions, but didn’t connect until mid 2020. They began dating following a blind date at Pennhurst and a first date at a rotating sushi bar!

Matt planned a date night for Shelbie. The only information Shelbie had was a date/time, and to dress warm, but slightly elevated. Her parka saved the day, because Matt had a beautiful, but cold evening in stowe! Matt took Shelbie to The Inn At Mendenhall for dinner, followed up by an evening at the Longwood Gardens Christmas display. Nearing the end of a gorgeous night of Christmas lights (and even seeing another proposal!), Matt and Shelbie found themselves in the treehouse for the perfect private & romantic proposal.
