The Wedding Website of Amanda Lutz and Johnathan Ferchland

Here is where we will put as much information as possible for you to get to and stay in Switzerland! Of course, we are happy to answer any other questions you might have! The main and large airport will be ZRH in Zurich which is the one we will be using and that has a large transportation station connected. There are of course some smaller airports closer to Grindelwald that you can research. From Zurich we will be taking the train which is so perfect for sight-seeing and very comfortable. There are TONS of lodging options via booking.com, Airbnb, or directly thru the locations. You can choose to stay in Grindelwald or if you’re looking for a larger city with more options you should look at Interlaken! Switzerland does use the Swiss Franc (CHF) as currency in case you’d like to bring cash so check the exchange rates for all your bookings. Do keep in mind the altitude and the weather for the area. Snow is most likely to happen and that is what we want. Bundle up and plan accordingly!

Swiss Pass

There is something called the “Swiss Pass” that could work for you depending on how long you plan to stay. It has offers for travel around Switzerland and discounts galore. There are many options for your package so definitely look to see what might fit in your fabulous itinerary!

Huge! And convenient! Be prepared to walk because this airport is massive but it has EVERYTHING when it comes to travel needs and connections.

The train from Zurich to Grindelwald is super easy to walk to at the airport and we personally book tickets when we get to the station because we’ve found it’s cheaper that way. But booking ahead is also possible! It takes about 3 hours.

Where to stay and what to do…

We have booked ourselves an apartment in Grindelwald for 10 December thru 18 December. We might be going back to Zurich a day or two early to enjoy a tour or see some sights but for now our plan is to stay in the mountains and enjoy the views! There’s lots to do in Grindelwald, Interlaken, Zurich, and much much more! Accommodation Bookings fill up quick due to ski season but there’s a lot of options with free cancellation!
