Our Story

Our relationship began like many others during Covid, on hinge. For those of you that may not be familiar hinge is an online dating app. I swiped right because Mickey was a rare Jewish find in Colorado, but Mickey would say it’s because of my love for Disney. Mickey swiped right after seeing my adventure photos and my adorable dog Ellie! The beginning started with us messaging each other back and forth where we connected over our love for dogs, family, and friends. Our first date was at a frozen yogurt bar since I was scheduled for an upcoming surgery. After enjoying each other’s company, I invited Mickey back to my apartment where we stayed up all night sharing stories of our past, families, and adventures. That night I knew there was something different about him and Mickey would say the same. We shared a perfect goodnight kiss, and it was only the beginning! Our relationship started a little rocky with me having multiple hospital stays, surgery, and post operative infections. I knew Mickey was the one when he continued to show up, put a smile on my face, and was never afraid of my illness. We moved in together very quickly which made a lot of our loved ones very nervous. We knew deep down that we both felt the same way about each other and wanted to start building our future. After a short while in the townhouse, we knew that it was not going to be big enough for us and our 3 dogs, so we decided to buy a house together. I will be the first one to say we are currently in our house because of Mickey’s determination. We started to discuss our relationship in the long term, and we were ready to take the next step. I started looking at rings with my mom knowing the proposal was not going to happen anytime soon. A few short months later, Mickey proposed to me in a very “us” way… in the hospital. Mickey always came to visit me while I was there, so I didn’t think anything of it until he was acting very strange, sweating, and had a square sticking out of his pocket. Mickey pulled out the ring box and I gasped, “I couldn’t wait any longer”. I started crying as he got down on one knee (yes on the hospital floor) and asked, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”. Of course, I said YES and that is why you are all here! We have done a lot during covid; surgeries (Rachel, Mickey, and Haji), traveled to meet family on both sides of the coast, traveled out of the country, blended our friends, and trained Ellie to give high fives! We have a mutual love of adventure! We love to go out and have fun together! We have been to Mickey’s beloved Umphrey’s McGee many times, Emo night, hockey games, beaches, and soon to be Disney! We are so excited that you are all here and are going to share our special day with us! We can’t wait to see you all very soon!
