With a history dating back to 1817, Chelsea Square is home the Episcopal Church's General Theological Seminary. Read more here https://eventsatchelseasquare.com/our-story/ If you aren't able to find Chelsea Square on Google or Apple Maps, the venue's address will work: 429 West 20th Street. (Please note that there is a nearby diner called Chelsea Square Restaurant. We're sure it's very nice there but it's not where we are getting married.)
Ubers, Lyfts and Yellow Cabs are all great options. If you want to take the subway, we recommend taking the A/C/E train to 23rd Street and walking about 7 minutes. For guests staying at The High Line Hotel, there is a direct entrance to the venue from the hotel's back garden.
This will be an adults-only affair. Thank you for understanding.
Black tie, baby! Ideas for gents: https://pin.it/1wSks2ViM Ideas for ladies: https://pin.it/3iEm4xgJV If you're renting a tuxedo, we recommend The Black Tux or Generation Tux.
Glamsquad is a service that will come to your hotel room and do hair and/or makeup. We've used them before and they're great. For $20 off your first booking, use code mschmitz2083 on the app. If you're looking for other glam services, text Maddie and she'll help you out.
The ceremony and reception will be held indoors on historic mosaic tiles and hardwood floors that are well-loved and a little uneven in some places. The cocktail hour will be held on grass (weather permitting). Feel free to wear stilettos, but keep this in mind when choosing your footwear.
Aim to get to the venue about 30 mins before the ceremony to make sure you have time to chat with friends and grab a seat. We don't want Maddie to beat you down the aisle!
There are two parking garages on 10th Avenue between 20th and 21st St. See here for more info: https://www.parkfast.com/locations/chelsea-manhattan-parking
