Old Salem Museums & Gardens
Winston's own historic town that's so so cute to walk around. We highly recommend visiting Winkler's Bakery while you're there and trying their cinnamon cake.
Reynolda House Museum of American Art
The bride absolutely loves this little museum. They have an ongoing collection of art and belongings of the Reynolds on display, but they also have rotating exhibits. Nathan actually took Allie to see an art exhibit the morning of their engagement.
Bailey Park
Definitely worth a visit. It's on the smaller side, but it's in the heart of downtown Winston and a lovely place to have a picnic or take a walk. There's often food trucks there around lunch time.
Reboot Arcade Bar
A favorite place of the groom's, if you want to try your hand at some retro arcade games and pinball, this is your place.
Raku Ramen and Sushi
The absolute BEST place for sushi! Allie is a loyal patron and she highly recommends the salmon roll, the sunflower roll, and the spicy yellowtail scallion roll. The ramen there is also delicious (or so we've heard).
Camel City BBQ Factory
Allie and Nathan went on their first Winston-Salem lunch date here. While you eat your BBQ, you can play retro game consoles!
Reynolda Gardens-Wake Forest
These gardens are to die for. They are well maintained, surrounded by cute shops, and are one of Allie's favorite places.
Penny Path Café & Crêpe Shop
Allie and Nathan ate here for lunch on the day of their engagement. Absolutely delicious crêpes with dessert and savory options. They have gluten free crêpes, too, so that's a big bonus!
a/perture cinema
A small, downtown movie theater that plays a variety of films, a/perture is so, so cute. Very indie and a fun experience.
Small Batch
They have best brussel sprouts you'll ever eat. Their house fries are also amazing.
The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art
It's free! Such a wonderfully curated museum on a beautiful piece of property.
Krankies
A cool little coffee shop/brunch place downtown. Allie loves paying a visit there for their iced chai and the vibes.
The Katharine Brasserie & Bar
If you're looking for a fancier setting for dinner, this is your place. The Katherine is where Nathan took Allie for her birthday dinner, right before popping the question afterwards. We highly recommend the trout.
