It didn’t take long for us to fall hard for each other in the summer of 2022. Jordan won Lauren over on their first date with a thoughtful gesture - asking the waiter for an allergen menu while she was in the bathroom; Lauren returned the favor and stole Jordan’s heart on a rainy day in a red dress. The hour-plus drive between us quickly became the highlight of our weeks, then our months, and somehow our years. Through every mile and milestone, God’s hand has been evident. We’re incredibly grateful for where He’s brought us and can’t wait to see what’s ahead as we start this next chapter. Thanks for cheering us on as we look forwood to the big day (had to).
Jordan was suspiciously on time (should’ve been Lauren’s first clue ;)) for our date to Great Falls to catch the last weekend of peak fall foliage. It’s a place that’s meant so much to us since the early days of our relationship. Due to the Government shutdown, and Great Falls being a national park, the parking lot was closed…which meant we had to park at an adjoining park 2.5 miles away. What we thought would be a quick stroll turned into an unexpectedly ambitious hike. To make matters better (or worse), Jordan had worn the wrong shoes - flat-soled Nikes - thinking we’d be parking nearby. He powered through like a champ. Somewhere along the trek, one of Lauren’s fake nails fell off (classic), which made Jordan quite nervous, until he realized it was thankfully on her right hand. Unbeknownst to Lauren, all of this also meant that Jordan’s good friend (and groomsman) Isaac - who was secretly trailing us to capture the moment - was also having to hike those same 2.5 miles. When we reached the overlook, it was absolutely stunning. Despite the unreal view and there being quite a few people in the park, the overlook was somehow completely empty - perfectly private, just for us. Jordan got down on one knee, and Lauren was so mesmerized by the ring that she genuinely forgot to say “yes” for an amount of time that felt much longer to Jordan than to her. The walk back to the car was so sweet, with both of us beaming (and Isaac in tow as well lol) and Lauren squealing the whole way home. It was truly the best day ever, and we wouldn’t change a single thing (not even the extra mileage).
Lauren & Jordan’s first date lasted 10 hours and spanned two cities
Did you know toilet seats come in round and oval? Lauren found out the hard way when she had to sweatily install a new toilet seat minutes before the first time Jordan ever came over, because she didn’t realize - in her efforts to clean - that bleach would turn the seat yellow
