We met in December 2019, thanks to some great matchmaking by mutual friends. Our first date was a wander around York under the Christmas lights, stopping at a few of our favourite bars and talking the night away. A few days later, we bumped into each other again on Christmas Eve in Pocklington. We spent the night with friends, and somehow ended up ringing in Christmas Day together. Since then, Christmas has always been our time and has meant a lot to both of us. And now, here we are, getting married at Christmas—because if it worked the first time, why not stick with the festive theme? After all, it’s when our story started. Plus, we figured it’s the perfect excuse for even more mulled wine.
