They say there’s a little something called the invisible string theory—that two people who are meant to be are always connected, no matter how far apart they may seem. You could say Stacey and Chad’s story began almost 10 years ago at the Uber Phoenix office, where they both worked… just not quite together. They were in the same place at the same time, crossing paths without ever truly meeting. The string was there—it just hadn’t been pulled yet. Fast forward years later, and fate stepped in (twice) when they matched on Hinge. Stacey made Chad work a little harder for that first date, but it was worth it. Over dinner at Huarachis, they quickly realized their lives had been more intertwined than they ever imagined. As Stacey shared how she began her career in tech, Chad had a surprising realization—he was actually close friends with her brother, Stefan, and had worked with him for years. Curious, they even went back through old emails from Stacey’s time at Uber… only to uncover a funny twist: Stacey had unknowingly sent Chad to the airport to deal with upset drivers during her time in the driver support center. Safe to say, she wasn’t exactly his favorite person that day. From there, everything started to click. They bonded over their love for their dogs, Dutchie and Molly, who quickly became best friends themselves. What started as a connection turned into something undeniable. Just six months later, Chad proposed on the beautiful island of Barú in Colombia, after celebrating a magical wedding weekend with Katie and Arturo. It was the easiest “yes.” Their story didn’t slow down from there. In July 2025, they found out they were expecting their greatest adventure yet, and on March 13th, they welcomed their son, Stetson, into the world. Now, as they celebrate their one-year anniversary, they are so excited to stand in front of their closest friends and family—this time with their brother officiating once again—and officially say “I do.” Because sometimes, the invisible string doesn’t just bring you together… it weaves a life more beautiful than you ever imagined.
We chose Kuha Casa del Agua because it feels like a hidden escape—nestled in the jungle, surrounded by nature, and centered around a beautiful cenote. It’s peaceful, romantic, and unlike anywhere else, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate with all of you. As it turns out, it was the very last stop on our venue search trip, and the moment we arrived, we knew it was the one. It perfectly brought together Chad’s vision of a rustic, jungle-inspired setting and Stacey’s wish to stay close to the city while capturing the warmth and charm of home. Having grown up in Cancún, it was especially meaningful for Stacey to embrace the beauty of the Rivera Maya and share a piece of that home with all of you.
