Mackinac Bridge View Point - Mackinaw City side
Stop in Mackinaw City and check out the view of the Mackinac Bridge! While you are there stick your toes in the straits. Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse helped passing ships navigate through the treacherous waters of the Straits of Mackinac. Our Save the Date photo was taken here!
Bridge View Park - St. Ignace
Check out the Mackinac Bridge on the St. Ignace side! Straits of Mackinac, overlooking the place where the waters of Lake Michigan meet Lake Huron, spanned by the mighty Mackinac Bridge. The beautiful park consists of an observation building, picnic pavilions and lots of paved parking. Located just west of the Mackinac Bridge Authority fare plaza.
Mackinac Island
No cars. No chain hotels. Just world-famous Mackinac Island Fudge, historic Fort Mackinac, unique shopping and diverse dining. About 45 mins from Brimley, MI and a Ferry Ride. We would recommend spending at least a half-day on the island. We took our engagement photos on the island! Check them out in our gallery. We will be on the island Thursday 7/25 for fun with friends & family. If you will also be there let us know!
Soo Locks
1000-foot freighters. Need we say more? Located in downtown Sault Ste Marie. There are several tourist shops and restaurants. Roughly 15-20 minutes from the venue.

Directly across the street from the Soo Locks! A great option for fresh fish! Fun Fact - Alley waitressed here during the summers in high school & college. (Emily too!)
Mission Hill Scenic Overlook
A beautiful scenic view of the bay. 5 min drive from Resort. Worth a quick stop for the view!
Tahquamenon Falls State Park
40 mins from Brimley, MI. The 200-feet-wide Upper Falls is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. The river’s amber color is caused by tannins leached from the cedar, spruce and hemlock trees in the swamps drained by the river, and the extremely soft water churned by the action of the falls causes the river’s trademark large amounts of foam. This is a very easy walk with designated walking trails. Check out both the upper falls & the lower falls! There is also a brewery @ the upper falls! Enjoy a drink after your hike.
Point Iroquois Lighthouse
Point Iroquois Light Station is located along the scenic Lake Superior shore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From birch bark canoes to giant ore freighters, this unique point of land has influenced travel for centuries. Observe the freighters traveling through Whitefish Bay as you walk along a cobblestone beach in search of agates. 8 minute drive from Bay Mills Resort

A favorite distillery stop for Jake & Alley on their way to Sault Ste Marie after crossing the bridge. Great drinks and a pretty drive!
Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum
The museum’s exhibits tell the story of the haunting world of Lake Superior shipwrecks. Hear the tales of ships and men who braved Lake Superior's raging storms, and watch captivating underwater films of shipwreck discoveries. One of the most famous artifacts at the museum is the bell from the wreck of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. This ship sank during a powerful storm in 1975; the exact reasons for its demise are still debated. In 1995 the bell was recovered from the wreck and has become a powerful memorial to the ship's crew.

Make your visit to the UP memorable with a trip through the Soo Locks. This boat tour goes through the Soo Locks. Both boat tours are great and very similar. 90 Minute Cruise. Located in Sault Ste Marie.
