Bryanna (Marisa's bff) and Logan (Okey's friend/Bryanna's boyfriend) were actually the two people that pushed us to get together. We first met at a track meet in April of 2019 when Bryanna and Logan were first getting together. It was basically an instant connection right then, lol. We ended up talking off and on until August/September of 2019 when Bryanna and Logan insisted on all of us hanging out nearly every weekend. Over this time, we became really close, and we ended up going to the Alexander Homecoming 2019 together (which feels like FOREVER ago).

Of course, Bryanna and Logan talked us into hanging out together again, this time was to carve pumpkins (what else is there to do in Athens in October??) I (Marisa) knew something was up when Logan and Okey went to one side of Bryanna's L-shaped porch while Bryanna and I stayed on the other side. I carved an innocent pic into my pumpkin and was done what seemed like forever before Okey was. He came around the corner with a pumpkin that was carved on two sides... you couldn't read anything! I assumed that this was another homecoming proposal since Okey's was coming up next, so I said yes. It wasn't until Bryanna and I walked inside that I asked her what the pumpkin said that I was informed that he carved out "Will you go to homecoming w me" on one side and "will you be my girlfriend" on the other. This was, obviously, the best blind decision ever! October 5th, 2019.

We had originally had plans to get photos taken because our walls were a little bare. Right before we took our last *planned* photo, our photographer had us turn our backs to each other and when we turned around Okey was on one knee. It was bittersweet and very unexpected. We celebrated after by going and getting our dog his own best friend (yes, we have three dogs in a small house, lol). July 15th, 2022.
