Our Story

By Adam

It was the spring semester of 2019 when I saw her. I walked into BIO Lab, found a seat, and when I looked over to my left she was sitting a few chairs down from me. I had seen her roaming the halls before, but I had not had any classes with her. I could not believe she was right there, and the thought of trying to speak to her made me weak. I did not know much about her except that she was a follower of Jesus Christ, that she was very sweet and kind, and that she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen! When Dr. Wynne was telling us about the anatomy of a flower, all I could think about was talking to this gorgeous woman sitting just a couple seats over. The semester drew to a close and I had not been able to bring myself to talk to her. I thought any shot at being with her was gone. I graduated and I did not know what had happened to her. That next summer, I was working construction with my Dad. I had just gotten off of work and was headed home when I remembered that Food City in Radford was having their grand opening. For no particular reason, I decided to stop by and check it out. I picked up a couple of things and headed to the self-checkout. I paid for my items and as I began to head for the door, there she was! She looked stunning in her blue Food City uniform! In her kind, soft voice she uttered “have a nice day!” as I passed. Kind of stunned, I retorted with an excited “HEY!” but quickly realizing that that was not the appropriate response I headed for the door. When I got home I realized that I was not going to let this opportunity slip like I had a year earlier. I found her on Facebook and messaged her. I asked her out to coffee and she said yes! After we had talked for over three hours on our first date, I knew that I wanted to spend every second I could with her. Since then, I have come to know this woman and I fall more deeply in love with her everyday. God has most definitely put us together and I can say that God’s timing is perfect.

Our Story

By Karli

It was Food City’s grand opening and I was working the late afternoon shift at self-checkout. I had seen a lot of familiar faces that day, but most of the people walking out I had never seen before. Once I got home from work, I sat at the dinner table and my phone buzzed on the counter. I picked it up and saw a message from a guy named Adam Fithian. From what I got on his facebook page, he was Amanda’s brother who I had been in a wedding with a few months before. I decided to message him back since I knew his sister was so sweet, why wouldn’t he be? I was both nervous and excited to go get coffee with him, since he was the first guy who “asked me out”. I was very excited to go on a date with Adam because from looking at Facebook, we had many mutual friends, he was very attractive, and he was active in his church. Our first date was one I will never forget. Adam was so easy to talk to, made me laugh, and by the end of the date we could both see ourselves serving the Lord together. There were no doubts in my mind that I wanted to be with him.
