We're Having a Wedding!

On the first day of eighth grade, I noticed Cameron. I even told my mom about him when I got home- "this cute boy on my bus." It was a couple weeks of me just admiring from a distance, so to speak. Then, miraculously, we ended up in a class together from us both having schedule changes. Eventually, we started talking over a game called "Battle Cats," and the friendship took off from there. As much as I hoped, I never in a million years ever thought he would be interested in me. Now he swears we would have gotten together sooner if I had made a move but I don't know about that! We were friends for 3 years and fast forward to junior year.. while we were waiting for our bus I somehow managed the nerve to ask him to go to the football game with me that night. This was end of September 2017. I immediately knew I was in trouble when I got home after the game. We had our first kiss October 19th, and it was October 21st that he asked me to be his girlfriend while we were stargazing on the park dock.

One of the reasons we will probably remember this day so well is from how freezing we were. We were on our way to Florida for Christmas, and stopped at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio. It was around 8 in the morning and about 50 degrees! I for sure knew he proposing here, heck, the ring had been in its box sitting on the kitchen counter for weeks! Us getting engaged was something we had talked about before I had even moved to Texas, so I knew it was coming. We were at the gardens early, so we had the place to ourselves. Eventually, we stopped in front of the waterfall that had conveniently placed, and unplanned rose petals in front of it. He kissed me, told me he loved me, and that he wanted to annoy me for the rest of his life if I would let him.. It could not have been more perfectly him. He's been pushing my buttons and teasing me since we became friends. There will never been a time I can say that I didn't know what I signed up for!
