Our story began in January of 2024, when we were living completely separate lives on opposite sides of the world—Alex on deployment in Guam and Megan in her junior year at Cal State Long Beach. Neither of us had any idea the other even existed. One night, Megan went to a Cody Johnson concert with a sorority sister. Her friend posted photos from their night out, and the very next day Megan received a follow request from Alex on Instagram. Soon after she accepted, Alex made the first move and slid into her DMs with the message: “When’s the wedding?” Megan didn’t miss a beat: “Whose—ours?” The conversation took off from there, and a few weeks later Alex finally returned to San Diego in early March. They met in person and had their first official date on March 9th, 2024. From that day on, life has been full of adventures—road-tripping across the country, surviving long distance while Megan finished nursing school, celebrating Alex’s police academy graduation and Megan’s nursing school graduation, moving across the country, becoming kitten parents to Moose and Molly, and even starting to build their first home together. What started with a single Instagram message has turned into the sweetest journey—one they can’t wait to continue forever.
