- Reserve your ferry before arriving to the port. Some of the more popular times (to Avalon on a Friday and back to the mainland on Sunday) reserve quickly. - Booking ferries from Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point: catalinaexpress.com/schedule-fares.hmtl - Booking ferries from Newport Beach: catalinainfo.com/catalina-flyer-schedule-fares.html - Plan to arrive 15-30 minutes before the ferry leaves. - There is a parking structure at the ferry terminals you can pay to use ($15-20/day). Otherwise Uber/Lyft are the best option. - The ferry is about an hour long to Avalon.
