We're Getting Married

When Ryan and Yecica met at a Halloween party in Las Vegas in 2021, neither expected a surprising introduction to spark a lifelong connection. Intrigued by his looks, Yecica’s first question to him was asking where he was from. Ryan stated his parents are from the Philippines. In an attempt to flirt, Yecica blurted out, “I’m Philippine too!” -a well-intentioned but slightly incorrect statement. With a smirk, Ryan asked, “Wait..where are you really from?” When she answered “El Salvador,” he couldn’t help but laugh and say, “No way, my last name is Salvador!” And just like that, the two became inseperable-what started as a funny coincidence turned into something neither of them expected. For the next two and a half years, their love defied distance. As a travel nurse, Yecica moved between Las Vegas, Seattle, and her hometown in Georgia, while Ryan-who works remotely-packed his bags and followed her whenever he could. Together, they turned every new city into another (food) adventure, proving that love isn’t about where you are, but who you’re with. One Thursday morning, Yecica came home from work excited to talk about the names of their future kids together. She fell asleep without knowing she would awake to the most special day of her life. Ryan took her for a picnic at Kate Sessions and handed her a scrapbook filled with a written love story and pictures of their journey-every adventure, every person that has been a part of their lives, every bite of food they indulged together, every moment that had led them to that day. As she turned to the last page, he was waiting on one knee and she exclaimed “YES,” before he even had the chance to ask the big question. Now, after miles of flights, hours of FaceTime calls, and adventures in each new city, they’re ready to start their greatest adventure yet- marriage…and lot of babies!
