Dujon and I met June of 2013 through a mutual friend. Although we had no intentions or interest in dating at the moment, the friend insisted we meet. She invited Dujon over to my apartment for a small gathering with friends, we talked, told stories, exchange interest and made jokes. A few days later I looked Dujon up through Facebook, messaged him and the rest was history.
After spending an amazing Christmas Eve with family, we drove back home. For the last 7 years of dating, we had created a tradition in which we exchange and open gifts in the comfort of our home. We arrived home and we quickly went towards our Christmas tree where he gave me a handwritten card in which he wrote the best love letter. I quickly sat down and attempted to read the card out loud. After struggling a little to read his card, I asked him to read it for me as I sat on the couch still feeling spaced out and tired from our long day with family. All I could remember in the moment is him telling me “Okay babe now you could open your gift”. Little did I know, the big light weight box that I was holding in my hands was going to change my life completely. ♥ ♥ ♥ I unwrapped the gift and notice a small jewelry box in the bottom. I slowly looked up with tears in my eyes in complete disbelief... Dujon got in one knee and asked me to marry him.
