Salem is 8 miles north of Nahant and is also the place we call home. We have lived in Salem for a few years and love the history, walkability, beauty, and the dogs.. so many dogs! Salem is most known for the witch trials of 1692 and is a tourist favorite bringing in approximately 500,000 tourists in October alone. We recommend strolling Essex Street, a cobble stone road full of shops, restarants, and musems. If you want a great lunch we suggest visiting our favorite restaurant, the Derby (let them know Benji sent you and they will tell you how much they love our pup)! Other attractions include The Salem Witch Museum, Hocus Pocus House, Halloween Museum, or The Peabody Essex Museum. If you want a low-key afternoon, grab some lunch at the Willows and enjoy overlooking the ocean while sitting in the grass. We recommend a walk at the Salem Commons, a large and beautiful park steps away from our condo, or at the Derby Lighthouse!
