Zoe and Grant met at Windsor dining hall at the start of freshman year through a mutual friend (Paige Walter). Two days later they ran into each other at a worship night on campus, and Grant remembered Zoe from before. They began chatting and getting to know each other, and realized they had a lot in common. After this, they saw each other on campus a few times and realized they were in the same calculus class. Luckily Zoe was a calc wizard and offered to tutor Grant. The more time they spent "tutoring" the less time they actually spent on math.

After a few months of calculus tutoring, with little progress in the math department, Grant finally asked Zoe on a real date without any math assignments. Because it was freshman year, Grant had to borrow a friends car and picked Zoe up from her dorm. She had no idea where they were headed, but quickly realized they were on their way to Chicago. They explored the city at the Christkindlmarkt, the Bean, and the Lincoln Park Zoo. This would only be the start of their crazy adventures.

Grant bought a ring and was looking for the best time to propose, because Zoe started grad school at IU they did not see each other as often. One weekend when Zoe was visiting Grant and friends at Purdue, Grant woke up on a Saturday morning and thought "today's the day." He called his brothers for some encouragement and went to Happy Hollow Park in West Lafayette to plan it all out. He recruited some friends to help set up flowers and candles in the park. Grant told Zoe they were going on a nice date night (as opposed to the typical chick fil a dinner), but he wanted to go on a walk before (keep in mind it was 25 degrees). They went to the park, talked about their life goals, and Grant brought up family. As they came up to a bridge Grant said, "My goal for this year is to make you a part of my family" and got down on one knee.

Since the first date Grant and Zoe have been on some crazy dates and adventures. From kayaking the Chicago River, to rodeos in the boondocks of Texas, to Disney World, and multiple road trips, the adventures are only beginning, and about to get even crazier. They have had so much fun exploring God's creation and getting to know more about each other, and they cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for their future.
