We got introduced to one another at a friend's party through our mutual friend, Kelly. It was nothing more than a casual encounter at first. As time passed, we started to run into one another which drew a spark of interest that led to us dating. Forever grateful to have been at that party...
Angel had planned a trip to Dallas, Texas to watch his team, the Cowboys, play against the 49ers. We planned, saved, and booked our Airbnb and flew out to Texas on Friday morning. We arrived and traveled the city for a bit until heading back to the Airbnb to relax before our first night out. While we chatted and spent time hanging out with our family, I recall "Big, Big Plans" by Chris Lane (which I love!) was played a few times, to which Angel later disclosed that it was being played in preparation of what our night would entail. Finally, we decided to get ready and head out for our first night in Dallas. We drove around AT&T Stadium and decided to visit Texas Live once we arrived. As we were walking, we noticed a beautiful Christmas light display and I asked Angel if we could take a picture in front of it. Unbeknownst to me, Angel knew what would be happening next. His uncle, Ernie, offered to take our picture, and I waited in front of the display while Angel "handed him his phone as well". Angel walked back to me, and we posed for our photo. As I turned to take my mask off, I looked back and Angel was already on one knee, with a beautifully lit ring box. I was so shocked and could not believe my dream of marrying this man was finally coming true! "Angela Elizabeth Saavedra...will you marry me?" By far, best question I have been asked in my life. After this moment, all I recall is being so excited to see the amazing and customized ring my now fiance had proposed to me with, and placing it on my ring finger. I was speechless. I was just so in awe of the effort and thought Angel put into the proposal. We ended our night by celebrating with our family and enjoyed the weekend showing off my ring and enjoying a great Cowboys win to end our magical weekend!
