Kyle and Alex attended The Hill School in Pottstown, PA together and although they did not date in high school, they were always friendly. Years went by and periodically Alex and Kyle would cross paths, but nothing aside from a friendship ever developed. Then, on Memorial Day weekend four years ago, they had a chance to meet up at a nearby friends of Kyle and the rest was history.

The day after Thanksgiving, Kyle and Alex went for a hike at Mountainside Park in Pompton Plains, NJ. Kyle had brought this up under the guise of wanting to show Alex where his family used to go hiking when they were growing up. Once they made it to their destination, Alex sat down to give Molly, their dog, some water and Kyle was rummaging through his backpack to get the ring unbeknownst to Alex. Suddenly Kyle was in front of Alex on one knee and asked her if she'd like to be his wife, to which she responded "absolutely!"
