Question

Important Information

Answer

With our ceremony venue being a Historic landmark, please be respectful of the grounds. The property owner is very prideful of their farm which has been in their family for generations. The bride and groom will be charged for any liter left behind, even a simple cigarette butt, please use receptacles for proper disposal.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Our dress code is semi-formal. Since Michigan weather can be unpredictable, we kindly suggest bringing a jacket, coat, or warm layers to stay comfortable during our outdoor ceremony.

Question

What colors would the couple like guests to avoid?

Answer

We humbly request that guests refrain from wearing the following colors unless specifically asked; navy blue, peach, burgundy, and burnt orange. Bridesmaids will be wearing the colors burgundy and peach. The groomsmen will be wearing navy blue suits with burnt orange accents. Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Erin directly at (734) 556-0342.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! Our ceremony will take place outdoors and our reception will mainly be indoors with lawn games available outdoors (weather permitting). Our wedding will take place in October so please dress accordingly. Ladies—our ceremony is on grass, so if you’re rocking stilettos, just know the ground might fight back. Consider giving your sky-high heels the day off! :)

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar. Tipping is not expected, but appreciated. (Cash tips)

Question

Where will your ceremony and reception be taking place?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place amidst the historic charm and natural beauty of Westcroft Gardens in Grosse Ile, MI. Following the ceremony, we will continue the celebration at the elegant Crystal Gardens in Southgate, MI. The venues are just a short 13-minute drive apart, making for a seamless transition between these unforgettable locations.

Question

Is your ceremony unplugged?

Answer

We kindly ask our guests to be present with us during the ceremony by limiting the use of phones and cameras. While we’re happy for you to snap a quick photo or two, we’d love for you to enjoy the moment with us rather than experiencing it through a screen. This will also allow our photographer to capture beautiful shots of all your smiling faces without distractions. ❤️ Thank you for understanding and helping us create an unforgettable experience!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

We will be taking photos with immediate family and the wedding party. Guests are asked to head to our reception venue (a short 13-minute drive to Crystal Gardens) to enjoy a cocktail hour with delicious signature drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and fun lawn games.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony

Answer

Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive 30min before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time. Due to the ceremony being on an island, you will be crossing an active "swing bridge" that, although unlikely, may have traffic stopped causing a 15 min delay, should the bridge have to swing for any reason. Please be aware of this potential delay.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Both venues offer plenty of on-site parking. At the ceremony, parking will be on grass or loose gravel, and you’ll have about a 5-minute walk to the seating area. Don’t worry—there will be clear signs to guide you where to park and sit!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Thank you in advance for sending your RSVP by our deadline, Friday, September 12th. You can either mail back the RSVP card included with your invitation or conveniently RSVP on our wedding website. While online RSVPs are preferred, they’re not required. ~Failure to RSVP in time: please bring a chair and a sandwich :)

Question

What bridge should I take?

Answer

There are two ways to get to Grosse Ile, both are via a bridge. The most used bridge is the Wayne County Bridge, AKA the "Free Bridge", which connects Trenton to Grosse Ile. This is an active, working, swing bridge, and although unlikely during this time of the year, it could swing at any time for any reason, causing traffic to be stopped for approx 15 mins. The second bridge is called the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge and there is a $3.50 charge to get on AND off the island and connects Riverview to Grosse Ile. We recommend taking the "free bridge" as our ceremony is closest to that bridge and for the fact that it is free. Still not sure? Please call or text Erin at 734-556-0342.

Question
