Tom and Ali’s love story started out like most others, with one of them (Ali) swiping right. It only took four straight days of texting for Tom to realize that this angel might actually be interested in him. They agreed to meet for dinner at Emmys Squared, and by some miracle, Tom pulled together a matching outfit all by himself. The moment Tom saw Ali standing outside of the restaurant, he was already planning their second date…. Unfortunately, Tom was a little too eager and did not check his calendar, so he double-booked his second date with Ali on the same night he was having dinner with his boss. After graciously agreeing to reschedule, Ali later learned that “dinner with his boss” was just a lie for Tom to watch LeBron James put on another masterclass finals performance (28-12-8).   The couple continued to date throughout the fall until Ali irresponsibly infected Tom with Covid-19 and forced them into quarantine together. Ali spent her time working out, reading books, calling friends, and taking care of Tom while he overcame his more dramatic battle with the same minor headache and fever.  Since then, Ali and Tom have been inseparable. They spent the following 3 years doing everything together, from hiking Angel’s landing, to watching the Lions find new ways to lose football games, traveling to Mexico and much more.

It was 2 days after our 3 year anniversary, on October 27th, and Tom finally got Ali to put on real clothes and skip yoga (which she was not happy about). After an elaborate lie about a special harvest moon/solar eclipse that only happens every 87 years, Tom led Ali to the roof of his building. There was a camera set up to video the whole thing and Ali still had 0 idea what was happening. When Tom said, “let’s stand here”, Ali responded, “no Tom if we stand there we will ruin these peoples shot of the moon” (even though it was cloudy and there was no moon in sight). Finally, Tom got down on one knee and after laughing and crying for a minute and a half, Ali finally let Tom take her hand and ask her to marry him. We have since moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and are excited to be planning a wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate with some of our favorite people!
