Honestly, it was LUST at first sight. We stared at each other long enough to pass the vibe check. Initially I was intrigued with his eyes but even more, I had never seen an Asian man with such big lips and hands. My initial thought was “what in the science experiment is this.” We eventually exchanged numbers, well he actually gave me his business card. One day I’m sitting in traffic and I get a phone call and it’s LE telling me to avoid the freeway due to traffic but we were both stuck. We spent the entire time on the phone, carrying over to me coming home, taking a shower, and going grocery shopping. The conversation was so natural we didn’t realize how long we had been on the phone.
DC was our first trip after I had Drew and our first night was in Baltimore. On our way to the hotel we booked a boat excursion. When we arrived to the hotel the skies were clear and the sun was out, by the time we changed our clothes to go outside it was gloomy. As we walked to the port the rain poured down on us. When we arrived the excursion was closed so we agree to a restaurant nearby. We were both completely drenched and I noticed he began acting strange/unorthodox. He stopped to bend down but by this time I was frustrated and told him can we hurry and get out of the rain (Initial proposal). We finally sat down at the restaurant, waiting for our drinks. He stands up and bend over, immediately I asked him why are you on the floor. He asks me “are my shoes wet?” Confused and annoyed I replied “We are drenched, so of course.” (Second attempt). Food arrives and we are happily eating. He grabs my hand and begins to confess his love for me, he seemed nervous and began to turn red. This was not normal behavior for either of us so I asked him if he was ok. All together he reached in his pocket and put his knee to the floor and asked me to marry him. He was so nervous, the minute I said YES he hopped back in his seat (he hates public attention). I was in shock. I was curious how he knew my ring size and how did he manage to keep the ring from me when I packed all the bags. He knew my ring size from placing an “o-ring” (he took from work) on my finger and he kept the ring box in his pocket during our travel.
I hired him to remove the weeds out of my backyard. He arrived in a polo shirt and jeans, for the life of me I didn’t understand why he chose that to get dirty in. He charged me by the hour so every so often I would ask if he needed water but that was me keeping an eye out to make sure he wasn’t taking advantage. After just a few hours the backyard was spotless, I was impressed. We spent about 20 minutes chatting before he said he was craving mashed potatoes with nacho cheese and asked if I wanted to grab a bite. As odd as that food combination was, I agreed. He said he knew a spot that was really good, since I wasn’t familiar with the area I trusted his judgement (strike 1). We pulled into Golden Corral and he paid for our meal with the money I just gave him. Technically, I paid for the first date.
Although we have been on many dates in the past, according to LE, it wasn’t a real date until we went to the junkyard to look for parts.
