It all started with a simple walk around Gray’s Lake. What began as a first date quickly turned into a favorite tradition; we spent our early days getting to know each other during evening walks, usually followed by a trip to Smokey Row. Eventually, those walks led us to local fishing ponds. Alyssa was reintroduced to fishing that first summer, and we spent hours on the banks catching bluegill. Adam may have outfished Alyssa in those early days, but by summer number two, the competitive spirit was in full swing and Alyssa was officially a "bass or bust" fisherman. When we aren’t scouting out the best fishing holes, hitting the Downtown Farmers’ Market, or scoping out different ice cream shops, we are out on the road. Adam has always been a huge Cubs fan, and it didn’t take long for Alyssa to get sucked into the fandom, too. We have traveled to Chicago, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and St. Louis, making sure to catch a Cubs game in every stadium along the way. We even traded in the Midwest for some Disney magic to celebrate Christmas together. On Sunday morning, March 8th, everything came full circle. We headed back to Gray’s Lake for a walk, but this time, Adam had a much bigger catch in mind. He asked the big question right where it all began, and the rest is history. We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with all of you!
