The year was 2014. Shelley had just started an internship at Monday Night Brewery and, no surprise, was planning her next move. Shelley applied for a PR Internship at SweetWater Brewery and was lucky enough to interview with the Social Media man himself, Brian Diggelmann. During the interview, Shelley looked Brian straight in the eyes and said - Hey, I actually can’t spell. If you could pass my resume along to your Event Manager and tell her to set up an events internship for me, I’d appreciate it! Dumbfounded - Brian passed Shelley’s resume along and she got the new Events Internship! Quick note - Shelley would print things out just to walk passed Brian’s desk and… he never realized. Some time later, Shelley was celebrating the end of her internship and start of her big girl job, with friends from SweetWater and Brian was getting dinner with his friends, Chad and Simone, at Ormsby’s. Well, Chad and Simone went home and Brian came to hang out with his SweetWater people. Long night short (including a foray at the Claremont Lounge) Shelley told Brian that he’d better ask her to dinner! Luckily, Brian always knew that Shelley was right and asked her out on a date. Now, this happy couple lives in East Atlanta their two cats, Pickles & Kimchi.
