It all started in June of 2014... Lauren and Eric met by happenstance at a concert at Webster Hall in New York City; it was the summer that Lauren was going into her senior year of high school and Eric his freshman year of college. The two began talking over trying to get two of their friends together, ultimately forgetting their mission of being good wingmen, and ended up hitting it off immediately. They danced and chatted all night, although throughout the whirlwind of leaving the concert venue, didn't get a chance to exchange numbers. The story, fortunately, did not end there.. as fate would have it, Eric tracked down Lauren's number and a few months later in December they were off on their first date during Eric's break home from school over the holidays. From that point on, they were inseparable. In the 8 years to follow the two would go to Lauren's senior prom together, Eric would watch Lauren graduate high school, they would spend many car and train rides visiting both Gettysburg and Richmond, cheer each other on at college graduations, celebrate one another when landing their first jobs, move into their first apartment together in Hoboken, and travel across many states and countries. The rest is history...

Lauren and Eric began traveling out to Montauk in June of 2019. They quickly fell in love with the bustling, boho town nestled at the very end of The Hamptons. From then, Eric and Lauren continued to travel to Montauk a few times each year. There was no doubt that Montauk was quickly becoming a 'home away from home' for them. On Thursday, April 21, 2022 the two set out east for what Lauren thought would be just another one of their Montauk getaways. On Friday, April 22, 2022 after a day spent kicking around town and going to an East Hampton vineyard, the two went for a walk on the beach to kill time before dinner. At that moment on the beach, life changed in the best way possible. Eric asked Lauren to marry him! Fast forward to their 2023 plans- it was never a question that Montauk would be the place where they'd say I do.
