We had planned our first international trip to Japan with some of our closest friends and planned our day in Kyoto to go see Fushimi Inari Taisha, the famous shrine with thousands of bright red torii gates. We decided to hike all the way to the top of the mountain, winding through endless rows of gates. After a long (and tiring) climb, we finally reached the summit, which overlooked Kyoto. And that's where Casey proposed.... right at the top, overlooking the city. It was a truly magical moment, surrounded not only by our closest friends who made the journey with us, but also by other travelers who cheered us on.
