The Stockyards was one of the first stops of Michael's first visit to Texas with Kat. There's so much to do including dancing at Billy Bob's, riding a mechanical bull, browsing the local shops for artisanal Texas souvenirs, seeing live cattle, getting lost in a maze, and more!

We got engaged here which makes us a little biased towards these gardens. Nevertheless, if you want a picturesque background or experience beautiful plants and landscapes, this is the place for you!

Perot Museum of Nature and SciencePerot Museum of Nature and Science
As you can see, Michael was mesmerized by the Perot museum, and for good reason. This museum has many interactive stations which makes it even more fun and perfect for all ages.

Six Flags is great for those who want a little bit more thrill in their visit. Definitely recommend looking into their special events going on such as Oktoberfest.

Whenever we are in Fort Worth, we always work out at Fort Worth Barbell, a locally-owned gym, which is perfect for lifting fiends. If you plan on working out, let us know and maybe we can squeeze a workout together!

We are huge Buc-ee's fans!! (Even though Harper's face says otherwise.) They're essentially the Walmart version of gas stations and, as they say, everything is bigger in Texas.
The Gun RangeThe Gun Range
When in Texas, do as the Texans do. We don't have a particular gun range spot that we recommend but if you haven't already, it's never too late to learn how to shoot or work on target practice. Michael is surprisingly very good at this.
Pecan LodgePecan Lodge
We love barbecue! There are tons of barbecue restaurants all over Texas and it's hard to go wrong with any of them. One of the places that we like is the Pecan Lodge in Dallas. It is also in a cute neighborhood if you want to browse local shops.
AustinAustin
If you don't mind driving (~3-4 hours), Austin is a great nearby city to explore! There are so many things to do in Austin including exploring the shops and restaurants on SoCo, taking a dip at Barton Springs, visiting the state capitol, enjoying amazing barbecue at Salt Lick, and having a drink on Rainey Street. Kat and Michael love Austin and can't wait to visit again.
