We meet about two years ago, at a house church gathering in the city of Nashville. We ended up hitting it off right away by talking about Harry Potter. Every Tuesday night I host a board game night and Amanda starting attending. During that time we developed and incredible friendship. We had a lot of adventures over the next two years. Eventually, while we were watching Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2, I had the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend in the pursuit of marriage. The rest is history.

When Amanda and I were building our friendship we went on a hike and discussed our perfect date days. Amanda didn't realize it, but she revealed exactly how I should propose to her. I can't keep any secrets, so Amanda knew that I would be asking her to marry me on March 31st. She had no idea what was planned all through the day though. I asked her parents permission in January 2018, and I went on to buy the ring the following week. During the day, we affectionately call E-Day, we went to breakfast at one of our favorite locations in Nashville, Holler and Dash. After that we ended up getting delicious donuts at Five Daughter Bakery. I gave her a tour of the city of Nashville after the donuts, so she could experience what I do for my job. Than we drove down to the Swan Overlook on the Natchez Trace parkway. This location was one that was special in our friendship, and it fundamental in our relationship. We did our daily devotions on first Corinthians chapter 13. During the middle of devotions, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. I had a surprise videographer and photographer there to capture the best moments of our lives before we headed back to her parents to have a little celebration. I ended the night by surprising her with Nashville Predator tickets, her favorite sports team.
