They met as teenagers through family and friends - but didn't think anything of it because of the age difference. One day, AJ was grabbing a pizza at Papa Murphy's (where Audrey worked while in Nursing school) and they reconnected from there. "Grabbing a drink" turned into hanging out during all of their free time. Ruby was introduced to AJ shortly after and it was love at first encounter. From long distance to working out of town, schooling and many ups and some downs - this has become their forever.

Before leaving for a family vacation to Mexico, AJ had already decided he would propose - unsure of exactly how or when. Once there, AJ met with a photographer on the resort and hashed out a plan. They were all to be out of the pool and be ready for family photos at 5pm. Just after 5pm, AJ, Audrey and Ruby began taking a series of photos with the photographer at the beach and other various locations along the beach. Towards the end of the photography session, the whole family met up with them. AJ's parents, brother and nephew along with Audrey's parents all joined them on a beautiful pier over the ocean. While Audrey was taking photos with Ruby on the pier. The photographer counted... "3, 2, 1..." and Audrey turned around to AJ down on his knee. The whole proposal was captured on video.
