So you know the common saying, “don’t mix business with pleasure”? Well, we didn’t listen. We met each other at Home Depot, where we both worked, in 2016 and he was my trainer. After a few weeks of occasional flirting, we went out on our first date and it was love at first sight (for him LOL). After a few more dates though, it became apparent that we both had a lot of maturing to do individually; I was terrified of commitment and he was still learning how to be a leader. We both went our separate ways with no intentions of reviving the relationship. In March of 2018, he had a family member pass away and I reached out to give my condolences—and we haven’t stopped talking since! We quickly saw how much the other person had changed and grown for the better; and, Jesus had done some profound work in the both of us. Soon after we became official, Jesus surrounded us with a family of believers who have mentored and supported us all throughout the highs and lows of our relationship. On January 26th of this year, Markim orchestrated the most thougtful and intentional proposal in front of all of our friends and family—and it was the easiest yes ever! We are so excited for this next season of marriage and we cannot wait to celebrate with the people we love. Thank you for reading our story and a special thank you to those of you who played such a vital role in getting us to where we are today. WE WILL SEE YOU AUGUST 8TH!
