Sarah had just joined the world of dating apps and Krish had been on a short break from them. While scrolling through Hinge, Sarah came across a prompt that caught her eye: “Something that’s non-negotiable for me when we play Uno, you keep drawing until you get a card you can play.” She swiped right. While killing time at an airport hotel during a delayed flight to his cousin’s wedding in Portland, Krish checked Hinge on a whim. He found that Sarah had liked him. He messaged her right away. Their first date was in Philly’s Chinatown: ramen, boba, and a walk to Rittenhouse Square Park, where they sat and talked on a bench for hours. It felt easy, comfortable, and natural. Like something was just… right. Over the next few months after their first date they had become best friends, fallen in love, and built a life full of inside jokes, spontaneous adventures, and tons of game playing. They’re total opposites in some ways: Krish blasts heavy metal, Sarah dances to rap and pop. Sarah is up with the sun, Krish comes alive at night. Krish is always hot and reaching for the fan, while Sarah’s wrapped in a blanket saying she’s freezing. But they balance each other perfectly. They support each other’s quirks, passions, and every weird and wonderful thing in between.
