Like many modern love stories, ours started with dating apps — somewhere between Hinge and Bumble. Our first date was actually supposed to happen earlier, but after one of us got sick and plans fell through, Jenna tried to reschedule… and Mike completely ghosted her. A few months later, Mike redeemed himself by sliding into Jenna’s Instagram DMs after spotting a photo of her in Mexico that caught his attention. This time, the first date finally happened in September, and the rest was history. At first, Jenna thought Mike was almost too nice (meaning too good to be true) and admittedly nearly sabotaged things by keeping her walls up. Mike, on the other hand, was immediately convinced Jenna was the coolest girl he had ever met, with the best personality he’d ever come across. About a month into dating, over a romantic pasta dinner at Toscana in Beverly, Mike cut through the bullshit and asked her to give the relationship a real chance, making it clear he was all in. Jenna, excitedly agreed, and from there, life moved quickly: less than five months later, they moved in together, got Sully, and started building their life side by side. They are opposites in many ways. Jenna thrives on projects, staying busy, and finding the next thing to tackle, while Mike prefers calm weekends and taking life as it comes. Somehow, that balance is exactly what works. Mike keeps Jenna grounded and realistic, while Jenna brings spontaneity, excitement, and energy to their life together. Also, importantly, Jenna likes the drumsticks, and Mike likes the wings. LaBelle Winery became part of their story during their very first Christmas together, when Mike brought Jenna there to see the Christmas lights and chose that moment to say “I love you” for the first time. A year later, during their second Christmas together, with Jenna pregnant with Savannah, they returned to that same special spot, where Mike surprised her by getting down on one knee, with a photographer hidden nearby and family waiting to celebrate afterward. Now, as they celebrate their fourth Christmas season together, it feels especially meaningful to return to the place where so many important moments began, this time surrounded by family and friends as they begin their next chapter as husband and wife, alongside Sully, Savannah, and dreams of finding their forever home.
