AJ and Marissa first met on March 21st at Fish Camp Reveal Night, when they were both placed in Session D Lime Camp Stasi — Marissa as a counselor and AJ as her camp’s Chair. The very first thing Marissa remembers him saying is, “How do you feel about the color lime?” Over the course of their Fish Camp summer, the two formed an easy, genuine friendship. Marissa loved spending time with AJ so much that she invited him to Pi Phi’s first date party of the year, Cowboys and Angels. After that night on September 14th, they both realized their friendship was meant to be something more. They did their best to follow the Camp’s “no dating policy”… which officially ended on October 3rd. On October 4th, AJ picked Marissa up for their first date — flowers in hand — and took her to Big Shots. After losing a round of putt putt, he took her to RX Pizza in Bryan and, as they walked out, asked her to be his girlfriend. Over the next year and a half, their relationship grew through so many milestones: college graduations (AJ decided he needed two), new careers, and watching the Aggies BTHO everybody… kind of. On May 17th, AJ proposed to Marissa at Lick Creek Park in College Station, just a few miles from where the two first met. They were surrounded by friends, family, and so much love and celebration. Now, they are beyond excited to begin their lives together, celebrating their wedding surrounded by all their favorite people. They know the years ahead will bring both laughter and learning curves, but they have complete faith in the God who is at the center of their relationship. Marissa holds tight to Romans 8:18: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” It reminds her that today’s trials are nothing compared to the joy ahead. AJ finds peace in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He carries this verse as a daily source of encouragement. Together, they’re building a life filled with laughter, purpose, prayer, and probably a few too many Aggie football games. Cheers to the Corcorans!
