Andrew and Emilie were officially married on July 11 th, 2020 in Del Mar, California overlooking the ocean. Their parents were present for this intimate ceremony in which they celebrated their union and love for one another... REWIND! So, we all know Covid-19 well... too well unfortunately. Andrew and Emilie planned their big wedding celebration for 07/11/2020 and held out hope as long as they could (Literally, waited until two weeks before the big day) before pulling the plug and postponing their wedding. Postingponing this special day that they had dreamt of for so long was heartbreaking. There are no rules or guide book to help a couple figure out their wedding during a global pandemic. With the support and love from their friends and family, they decided to move forward with becoming husband and wife on their chosen date (the anniversary of their engagement in Hong Kong). In order to preserve this special milestone in life for not only for themselves but for their loved ones as well, they decided to save their vows to share with you as their witness next Summer 2021. For their wedding part 1, as they like to call it, the two met at the top of Del Mar Cliffs to be married by their good friend Michael Garza, their parents were their witnesses, and Josh Guerero captured all the memories. They ended their ceremony with a champagne toast and photos before departing on their mini-moon to Sedona, Arizona. All in all, they feel so blessed to have each-other and their marriage, especially during these unprecedented times. They are so happy to have shared this big moment together in such an intimate setting and take the pressure off Wedding Part 2 next Summer so that they can celebrate properly. The two are so excited to share their special day all over again with the people they love most!
They were visiting the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong, for the first time. The proposal was a total surprise for Emilie, which is shocking since it's nearly impossible to keep a secret away from her. Emilie's parents were in Hong Kong to visit and Em invited her two good friends from her Disney contract; Olivia and Natalie. For Emilie, it was another new adventure in Asia but for Andrew it was the trip that would change their lives forever! They all traveled up the lush, mountains in a gondola to the Buddha. Emilie was busy comforting Natalie and her fear of heights (which served as a great distraction) while Andrew and Olivia fiddled to get the GoPro ready. Once they reached the top, eager to explore, Emilie hopped out of the gondola and discovered the first glimpse of the Buddha off in the distance. Of course, she was ready for a photo op, which made Andrew's life a little easier because she had found "the spot". As she went to jump up onto the wall to take a photo, Andrew tapped her to turn around to "stand next to him". She jumped down and as she turned around to face Andrew she saw him slowly drop to one knee. He looked up at her and professed his love for her (thankfully he remembered what he said to her to recite to her later, since she blacked out for most of the proposal). Andrew opened the brown, wooden box to the beautiful ring that she would wear on her finger forever. Between her gasps of excitement and happy tears she said, "Yes!" They hugged and cried together. Emilie was a little bummed that she wasn't wearing makeup or didn't have her nails done but in hindsight says, "she wouldn't have wanted it any other way". Andrew and Emilie were absolutely beaming for the rest of the day as they made there way up to the Buddha. They made a wish together on a wooden block for a "Happy and Healthy Marriage" that the monks would pray for. It was so special to be surrounded by family that day, and they can't wait to share their love with you on 7-11-2020.
Andrew and Emilie met while they were both working on Disney's Paint the Night Parade. They worked alongside each other for months; little did she know that Andrew was going out of his way to pick up additional shifts in order to work along side her or style his hair to look his best, in anticipation of seeing her at work. They began talking to each other when ever they got the chance; including Emilie’s special way of flirting with Andrew by singing to him or teasing him during her microphone tests so that the entire cast could hear. The two spent late nights together drinking milkshakes at Denny's after work and laughing until the early ours in the morning. Andrew and Emilie went on their first date to the Happiest Place on Earth, of course, in December of 2015. Little did they know that that first date would turn into so much more!
