In 2020, while both playing sports through the COVID pandemic at Marshall University, Patrick & Macy met briefly at a Halloween party. The next time they met was when mutual friends brought Patrick over to Macy's apartment. Immediately, they both knew that they wanted to be together and made up plenty of excuses to see one another, including Macy pretending she didn't know how to change a tire (Sorry Dad). Soon after, they were inseparable & began officially dating on March 27th, 2021. In 2023, Patrick was drafted by the Dodgers & long-distance began, with Patrick playing baseball while Macy worked in Pennsylvania. In 2024, on a visit to see Patrick in Michigan, both of their lives changed drastically, and they decided that long-distance was no longer what either of them wanted, and they began to travel together. On February 23, 2025, Patrick proposed to Macy on the top of Dixie Mountain Summit in Phoenix, Arizona at sunset.
