Jake and Audrey met through social media and dated for a few months during their junior year of high school. After two homecomings together, a picnic with a heart-shaped brownie, and a break up at the park, they did not speak for six years (besides Jake telling Audrey “happy birthday” every few years). They reconnected and started dating again in 2020, one month before Jake’s one-year deployment to Israel. The first year of their relationship was full of FaceTime calls, care packages, and counting down the months, weeks, and days until they could be together again. They knew the distance between them in their first year together would be a challenge but was something worth waiting for. After Jake returned home from Israel, they spent time enjoying no longer being in a long distance relationship, growing as a couple, buying a home together, and bringing home a puppy. On February 20, 2023, Jake proposed at the same park he and Audrey had broken up at all those years before which was followed by a celebration with both of their families. Jake and Audrey love looking back and reminiscing on their story and God’s timing in it all.
