FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear dresses (cocktail or floor length, whatever you are comfortable with) and/or pant suits if desired. Gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

We are praying for beautiful weather for our big day as our ceremony is outdoors. Beginning of October may be chilly in Pennsylvania. We advise to bring a light jacket or sweater if desired. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to inside the barn. Umbrellas will not be necessary.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We are planning to have the ceremony at the outdoor chapel located on the property. Cocktail hour will be on the patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas provided. Reception will be located inside the barn.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

Although we do not have a particular theme, the rustic farmhouse vibes will be in full swing! Colors are rust orange, charcoal gray, and shades of ivory and green.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 30-45 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everything starts on time. For guests taking advantage of transportation from the hotels, this should not be an issue as they will plan to leave at an appropriate time. 2 buses will be provided for our guests with the first pick-up time scheduled for 3:00pm. Both buses will circle back to pick-up remaining guests that were unable to get on the first route to the venue.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is free parking on-site at the venue. However, for those guests that will be enjoying the open bar, we ask that you use the transportation services that have been provided for you back to the hotels. No drinking & driving!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to wedding venue accommodations, we have a strict guest list. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on the invitation.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

We do! There are two hotels located less than 10 minutes away from the farm. Both are across the street from each other as well! Discount codes are listed on the travel page. The discount code is valid until 9/5.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes! Both are wheelchair accessible. For the outdoor reception, the venue will be providing a golf cart for those that need to be transported closer to the chapel. For those guests that need to take advantage of the golf cart for getting to ceremony site safely, please remain in the main lobby as the golf cart will pick-up right outside the main lobby.

Question

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

As some of our decor items are rented through the venue and/or outside vendors, we strongly advise that you do not take a centerpiece or candle home with you. However, any floral centerpieces (just the flowers) that remain on the tables are free to take if you wish!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no" so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes! We encourage guests to post on their social media channels. We request that you tag your photos with our wedding hashtag #NewChickInTown so we can look back at all the photos!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We strongly request that all guests refrain from using cell phones or personal cameras during the ceremony. We have hired excellent photographers to capture not only the entire day, including our heartfelt ceremony. We strongly ask that you be respectful of this request.

Question

Can I smoke at your venue?

Answer

There is a designated smoking area. However, it is away and isolated from where most of our wedding activities are taking place. Out of respect for other guests who may not want to smell cigarette and/or cigar smoke, we kindly ask that you refrain during this time together. We hope that our guests who smoke can avoid doing so in order to spend ample time with us!

Question

Can we check in early to our hotel if we booked for 10/2 - 10/3?

Answer

Early check-in is an option for guests that booked to just stay one night. Standard check-in time is 3:00pm. However, our first bus will be picking up guests at 3:00pm. The hotels are aware that some of our guests may need early check-in. Please call closer to the wedding weekend and make them aware of this need.
