Tyler and I first met when we were 17. Despite having gone to the same arts high school for a brief time, our paths didn’t cross through mutual friends until the summer after senior year, 2013. Tyler and I dated for a bit until I moved out of state for college. It was the right person, wrong time. We stayed friendly, but we both spent the next few years living our own lives, dating other people, and growing into our adulthood. Flash forward to 2017, and I found my way back to Tyler through a dream. Seriously. I had a dream he was in, and I woke up that next morning feeling like it meant something. So I did something very unlike Rachel. I was spontaneous. I texted Tyler and told him he was in my dream and that I missed him, and he asked me to come out with him in Orlando the next day. We went dancing that night, and the rest is history. Over the 4.5 years we’ve been together, Tyler and I have built an incredible life. We’re lucky to call those same kids we spent our senior summer with best friends, and we’ve made new ones together that we truly consider family. We have a beautiful home, sweet puppy, and the best extended and blended family we could ask for. We’re excited for marriage and all of the joys and adventures it brings – and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on our special day.
Our ceremony will be held lakeside at Lake John in Lakeland, Florida, in the backyard I grew up in. Following the short ceremony, we invite you all to meet us down the road in Winter Haven at the Garden Center for a cocktail hour followed by dinner, dancing, and disco.
