How We Met

We had perfect timing… just a few years late!

We like to say our timing was perfect, just a little late. Christophe and I grew up in the same small town of Dartmouth. We went to the same middle school, the same high school, and even the same college. For years our lives were moving in the same direction, side by side, but somehow we never met. Looking back, it almost feels like we were always meant to find each other, but only when the time was right. That moment finally came one summer night. After a casual dinner with friends, I was convinced to go out to a local bar. Anyone who knows me knows that bars are not really my scene, but something told me to just go along. That is when Christophe walked right up to me as if he had known me my whole life. He was confident, warm, and spoke with a familiarity that immediately caught me off guard. For a second I wondered if he had mistaken me for someone else, but it turned out he knew exactly who I was. From there, everything seemed to fall into place as if the universe had been waiting for us to catch up. We started seeing each other more often, from sushi dates at Turks to late night library study sessions, dinners with friends, and endless conversations that stretched into the early hours of the morning. The more time we spent together, the more natural it felt, and before long it was clear that we had found something rare and special. Fast forward a few years filled with love, laughter, and adventures we will always cherish, including an unforgettable trip to Portugal. It was there, surrounded by history and beauty, that Christophe asked me to marry him. And without a moment of hesitation, I said yes. So no, our story was not love at first sight. It was something even better. It was love that waited patiently, weaving our lives side by side until the timing was finally right. And now, we cannot imagine our lives any other way.
