You could say our love was a slow burn. Our story begins in the summer of 2019 when we met through mutual friends at a party. At first we remained friends, where there was harmless flirting here and there, and a couple dates but nothing developed. It wasn't until late 2020 where we became closer and Brandon's charm finally made its way into Ashleys heart. We began dating in January 2021. If you were to ask Ashley about her favourite memory about Brandon: A memorable story from the beginning of our chapter was when Brandon remembered a small detail from one of our conversations about my favourite snacks- BBq chips. It was a small thing I mentioned in passing. Little did I know, at one of our next hangouts, Brandon would surprise me with every bbq chip he could get his hands on. I didn’t need to buy snacks for weeks! If you were to ask Brandon about his favourite memory about Ashley: It was our trip to Hawaii where we visited the North Shore. If you haven’t been to the North Shore, it is known for having the best and biggest waves for surfing. We were enjoying the sunset at Waimea Bay and decided to go for a dip in the ocean. Ashley was standing near the shore when a huge wave came and swept her off her feet (literally!). She fell and as she was getting up, she was swept again by another big wave and I then had to help her back to her feet. With sand all over, the first thing I saw was a big smile on her face and a giggle of relief. When I saw that smile, I knew that Ashley was down for the thrill. We share a common love for discovering new foods, going for walks, staying in and watching movies, and exploring the world. Places we have travelled together were Toronto, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Orlando, and Japan. There is so much of the world we have yet to explore but if you were to ask what our favourite place was, it would be Japan. We loved the food, the culture, the heritage, and the people. Not only was this our first big trip together, it was the very place where we got engaged! This is the beginning of a new chapter and we can’t wait to have you all at our wedding to celebrate it with us!
