How We MetHow We Met

It started with a nap joke—and turned into forever

Like many great 21st-century love stories, ours began with a swipe—and a nap joke. We met on Hinge, where Sam had a prompt on her profile that said she always falls asleep during movies. Quincy, being the smooth talker he is, responded with, “I’m always down for a mid-movie nap,” which, let’s be honest, was probably the most on-brand icebreaker for both of us. From that one comment, a week of nonstop conversation followed—filled with memes, teasing, shared values, and the kind of banter that made it feel like we’d known each other for years. Our first date was at Escape Brewery, where we nervously sipped beer, pretended to like the pizza (Quincy still won’t admit he didn’t), and ended up having the kind of night you hope for when you meet someone new—effortless, fun, and full of chemistry. We’ve been together ever since. What started as a casual chat about movie naps quickly turned into something we never expected: a partnership built on laughter, love, late-night snacks, and the kind of connection that makes even the ordinary feel magical. We’re so grateful that Hinge did its job, and even more grateful that we kept showing up for each other every step of the way.
