Best Man
Colson is one of Connor's oldest and most cherished bullies. From Connor's earliest memories, Colson was always there to do something heinous. Things weren't always bad though, and Connor still has many great memories with Colson from their childhood. Like that time that Colson got them kicked out of Cony Island. Or that time that he got them banned from the grocery store. Or that time that he got the fire department called on them when he burned down the neighbor's pool cabana. However, once Connor got a little older (and a lot less annoying) and Colson became a little less of an arsonist, the two realized that they didn't have to engage in eternal conflict and, instead, could actually learn to become great friends.
Co-Best Man
It took Connor and Nick a long time to really get to know each other. To Connor, Nick was the unapproachably older and more mature brother whose decisions he tried to emulate. To Nick, Connor was annoying. For a few years, Connor had an uncanny habit of unintentionally following exactly in Nick's footsteps, going to the same university that Nick had graduated from, joining the same fraternity, participating in the same Christian groups, and living in the same house where Nick had once lived. There's not some larger lesson to come from that, I just think it's interesting. Anyway, it was while living in LA together that these two really got to grow a real friendship, and what a rewarding friendship it has been. However, when Nick got married, he picked two men to be his co-best men...and neither of them were his two brothers. Therefore, Nick is the co-best man at the wedding, whereas Colson is the best man.
