It all started when Cassie attended one of Sam's "Cardio Tennis" classes at Stratton Mountain with her friend Courtney. Mid-class, Courtney nudged Cassie and whispered "he keeps looking at you." Giggling like school girls, they continued to be swooned by Sam's English accent. Soon after Cassie and Sam were in love, spending their winter on the mountain and their spring traveling through Europe.

On a snowy Christmas Day, Sam and Cassie spent the day snowboarding with their family on Stratton Mountain. Sam and Cassie ventured to a tree trail, a gorgeous winter wonderland, and Sam said "this is even better than I imagined," and asked Cassie to turn around with her eyes closed. When she turned back to face Sam with her eyes open, he was on one knee asking if she would marry him. Before he could even finish, she said yes!
