FAQs

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Since many of our guests are traveling to Charleston, we’re planning a relaxed weekend with several optional gatherings so we can spend extra time together. Check our "Schedule" tab at the top of this website to check out our plans! We’ll firm up our details as the weekend gets closer. Charleston is a wonderful place to spend a long weekend, and we encourage guests to explore the city while you're here—there are amazing restaurants, cocktail bars, beautiful historic streets, and plenty of waterfront views to enjoy.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Ideally, as soon as you know if you can join us! This helps us estimate for the caterer, bar service, etc well in advance. RSVPs will officially close on Saturday, August 1st.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding celebration an adults-only event so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We will be including a few close family children in the ceremony. If you are traveling with children, we are happy to share recommendations for trusted local babysitting services: https://www.coastalnannyandstaffingagency.com/ https://yourhappynest.com

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

To keep our celebration intimate, we are only able to host guests listed on the invitation. If a plus-one has been reserved for you, it will appear when you RSVP. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is summer formal. Tuxedos or suits are welcome for gentlemen, and long dresses or formal gowns for ladies. Since early September in Charleston can still be warm, we recommend light and breathable fabrics. The festivities will be inside and outside on the lawn. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the property by 4:45 pm to allow time to park in the public parking lot and find the entrance. The venue will open at 5:00 pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:15 pm.

Question

What are our transportation options to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

The venue is very conveniently located between downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant, so guests can easily arrive by Uber, Lyft, or by driving and parking at the venue. We highly encourage using ride-share apps so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening—we’re planning a lively celebration with plenty of dancing and drinks!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The Cooper River Room is located within Memorial Waterfront Park at the base of the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant. Guests can use the public parking lots for the park and Mount Pleasant Pier, which are immediately outside the venue. Parking is first-come, first-served, so we recommend arriving no later than 4:45 pm. Address for GPS: 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Blvd, Mount Pleasant, SC. The park sits directly under the Ravenel Bridge and offers beautiful views of Charleston Harbor.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered only with Zola, for gifts of experience only, as we already have everything we need at home.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

As it is a holiday weekend, we highly encourage guests to book their rooms as soon as possible. The most convenient locations to our venue and weekend activities will be downtown on the peninsula or in Mount Pleasant close to the Ravenel Bridge.
