A Note to Our Guests

Our dear friends and family, We are excited to be moving forward with our wedding on October 3, 2020. The Church of the Little Flower is ready to safely accommodate us with plenty of space for our guests to follow social distancing guidelines. You are invited to join us and we would love to have you. However, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our reception at Riviera Country Club. Our greatest wish is for the continued health of our friends and family. Please do not feel obliged to attend. We understand that you must prioritize your own health, and that of those closest to you, when deciding either way. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and the delayed notice, and look forward to seeing you soon. With love, Diana & Hunter

How We Met

TLDR: You can find love at E11even.

Hunter and I met at E11even in October of 2016 where he approached Briana Ciraulo (bridesmaid) and I at the bar and tricked me into giving him my number via a rouse that involved Ricky Robinson. Well, truthfully, we met sometime in 8th grade. Anyway, by November we were dating. By December, he was my +1 at Gaston and Mari's wedding -- his first Cuban wedding experience and where he was fully initiated into the Arellano family by aunt Lydia sending a video of him dancing salsa to the family and reception host Lili Prellezo offering him her house for our wedding. Two months in. This would have been embarrassing had he not already told me he was going to marry me. When you know you know.

2017-2018

From there, adventure. 2017 involved weekly road trips to Ocean Reef to request Mambo #5 at the Burgee Bar, take out Mike & JoJo's (Hunter's dad & step mom) boat and dance at Roy & Janet's Vintage Party. Back in Miami, there were many family dinners at my parent's (Marianne & Jose Maria), Courtney's (Hunter's mom) and Darryl's (Hunter's step dad) houses. A goal-oriented travel publicist -- in 2018, after a brainstorm call with Marianne (best woman), I decided my New Year's Resolution would be to visit 12 American cities I had never been to in 12 months and Hunter made it his, too. We traveled with friends and family like Maggie (maid of Honor) and Dylan (groomsman) to Jackson Hole and Amanda & Mike Repaci to Nashville, and we traveled to visit friends and family, like the Carbonells in Greenwich, the Wolfsbergers in St. Louis, and Kelly McGinnis and Jared Borlack in Chicago. A great boyfriend with a knack for impressing me -- in July, Hunter took a job with XOjet so that we could finish the remainder of the #MonoTakesAmerica tour flying privately. Although that statement is totally untrue, the year was one for the books with highlights including the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, catching two of Justify's Triple Crown wins at the Kentucky Derby & Belmont Stakes, and more, the best of which, was doing it together.

2019

For Christmas, Hunter challenged me to learn to golf by gifting me clubs. In 2019, I took some lessons and became a near scratch golfer. Although that is also not true I was still able to become a "travel golf writer" which is an insider publicist trick to getting free travel and made it easier to work toward a New Year's Resolution to golf 12 courses in 12 months. Highlights included 4 of the top rated courses in the Caribbean and Mexico like Casa de Campo's Teeth of the Dog and Punta de Mita's Tail of the Whale. In September, we attended Spencer (groomsman) and Katia's wedding in the Berkshire's where we stayed at Joey Katz' (best man) home and where I would finally receive the last approval Hunter needed to be able to propose (Ezra Katz). Then, on a fall foliage road trip around Michigan, there was no fall foliage on the trees or whales in Lake Michigan but there was Hunter down on one knee at the end of the Petoskey pier. And all that is what has lead us to here.

Just kidding.

October 3, 2020

Before we met, our friends and family played an integral role in helping us to become the people that we were when we eventually fell in love with each other. Since we met, you have all played a unique part in our story. We are so looking forward to this next step and hope that you'll be there with us -- now in October instead of June. We hope you are still able to join us, and if not, we completely understand and can't wait to see you soon!
