Lauren and Mark met at the wedding of their friends Sean and Elizabeth Aherne. Mark was invited as a college friend of the groom and Lauren was invited as a childhood friend of the bride. They both hit it off after a night of dinner, dancing, and drinks. Mark did not waste time…he asked Lauren out the following day.

Mark took Lauren to one of her favorite summer spots: The Lawn at Castle Hill Inn in Newport. It was a pitch perfect day. They were met by their friends Billy and Kate, who were an immense help by setting up their spot on the Lawn and coordinating with the photographer. Mark walked Lauren onto the lawn that overlooks Narragansett Bay and asked her to marry him. They then ventured to Forty 1 North in Downtown Newport for a surprise Engagement Party with their family and friends.
